CHÂTEAU ISLE MARIE:

Traditions Since 12th Century

Owned by the same family for 800 years, this beautiful property survived a number of invasions, occupations and other major historical events. Isle Marie recently opened its doors to the public with the mission to share and pass on its fascinating history as well as to offer guests an unforgettable stay in Normandy.

Château L’Isle Marie was voted one of the top 50 most romantic destinations in the world by the prestigious “Travel & Leisure” magazine.

Your Hosts

Valentina and Nicola are both experienced hospitality professionals with incredibly diverse backgrounds. Valentina is also a philologist by education and a history enthusiast – the best person to show you around the castle and tell you the secrets of this old property that survived so many ups and downs.

Nicola’s background is very colourful, too – he experienced different career paths before discovering his passion and talent for cooking. Then he opened his own very successful restaurant in Corsica and was also in charge of recruiting and training of young chefs in France and Italy – to mention just a few of his previous projects.

At Isle Marie Valentina & Nicola are on a mission to not only ensure the excellent stay of our guests, but to create a unique and personalised human experience that only a small family property can provide.

“We will be happy to lead you through the history of the Castle, from the Vikings to William the Conqueror, Louis XIV and World War II.

Welcome to our island!
